Northern Equestrian Direct Riding Hats Sizing and Info Page The riding hat is the most important piece of equestrian equipment you will purchase. A riding hat will provide you with some although not complete protection should you be unfortunate enough to fall from or be kicked by your horse. Horse riding hats must be worn at all times when riding and it is recommended that riding hats should also be worn when handling your horse from the ground. Riding hats do not last forever and because of this it is not recommended that you purchase a second hand riding hat, over time the protective padding compacts causing the hat to become looser on your head, if this happens to your riding hat or it suffers a severe impact then for your personal safety your hat must be replace. Please note a impact can be caused by just dropping your hat on a hard surface. Please make sure that if you are looking to purchase a horse riding helmet that it meets the current approved standards PAS0105 or BSEN1384, EN1384.
